Xenophobic attacks: Fresh batch of evacuated Nigerians arrive in Lagos from South Africa
The third batch of Nigerians evacuated from South Africa has arrived in Lagos after weeks of anti-immigration protests and rising xenophobic tensions in the country.
The returnees were flown into Nigeria aboard an Air Peace aircraft, which landed at the cargo terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, at about 10:54 a.m. on Tuesday.
The latest group joins hundreds of other Nigerians who have been brought back home under the Federal Government’s evacuation programme following the unrest in South Africa.
