Gov Otu decorated patron of Pro-Tinubu group RTIFN
Governor Bassey Otu has been decorated as Patron of the political support group, Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN), in recognition of his support for the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his commitment to national development, peace and unity.
The honour was conferred on the governor on Friday when a delegation of the group paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House in Calabar.
Speaking during the visit, Otu described Tinubu as a courageous and visionary leader whose economic reforms are laying the foundation for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
The governor said the President demonstrated political courage by implementing policies such as fuel subsidy removal and the floating of the naira, reforms he argued were necessary for the country’s long-term economic stability.
According to him, the Tinubu administration has recorded significant achievements over the past three years across various sectors, including infrastructure, education, social investment and the economy.
Otu particularly highlighted the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as one of the most transformative infrastructure projects in the country, expressing confidence that Nigerians would eventually appreciate its economic benefits.
He also stated that efforts by the Federal Government to tackle insecurity were beginning to yield positive results and expressed optimism that sustained collaboration would help address the nation’s security challenges.
Reaffirming his support for the President, the governor said the Renewed Hope Agenda was already delivering measurable outcomes and urged Nigerians to continue supporting the administration.
He further endorsed Tinubu for a second term, saying the President should be given the opportunity to complete ongoing reforms and development projects.
Accepting the patronship, Otu pledged continued support for initiatives aimed at promoting national unity and creating greater awareness of the achievements of the current administration.
Earlier, the Cross River State Coordinator of RTIFN, Engr. Anjor David Obande, congratulated the governor on his third anniversary in office and commended his administration’s performance in infrastructure, security and education.
Also speaking, Zack Orji, Deputy National Coordinator of RTIFN, praised Otu for efforts to reposition Cross River as an attractive destination for investment and economic growth.
He said the organisation remained committed to informing Nigerians about the achievements of the Tinubu administration, claiming that more than 300 projects had been initiated and executed nationwide within the last three years.
In his remarks, the National Secretary of RTIFN, Ambassador Felix Arome, described Otu as a humble and focused leader whose style of governance reflects the values of inclusiveness, stability and national progress.
The event was attended by several government officials and political stakeholders, including Peter Odey, Secretary to the State Government Anthony Owan-Enoh, Chief of Staff Emmanuel Ironbar, and APC State Chairman Christopher Sunny Eta.
