Peter Akpanke wins APC Reps Primary for Obanliku/Bekwarra/Obudu Federal Constituency
Member representing Obanliku/Bekwarra/Obudu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Peter Akpanke, has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Akpanke secured a total of 14,252 votes to clinch the party’s ticket in the keenly contested primary election held across the 30 wards in Obanliku, Bekwarra and Obudu Local Government Areas of Cross River State.
Declaring the result at the collation centre in Obudu, the Returning Officer, Mr. Edodi Ejekor, announced Akpanke as the duly elected APC candidate for the Obanliku/Bekwarra/Obudu Federal Constituency.
The exercise witnessed participation from party delegates, stakeholders and electoral officials across the three local government areas, while supporters and APC faithful gathered to witness the final declaration.
Other aspirants who participated in the primary included Hon. Theresa Ushie, Hon. Martin Orim and Dr. Godwin Agbor.
Speaking after his victory, Akpanke appreciated party delegates, stakeholders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, promising to continue working towards effective representation, unity and development across the constituency.
He also appealed to party members and fellow aspirants to remain united and work collectively for the success of the APC in the 2027 general elections.
The primary election was initially scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026, before it was later shifted to Saturday, May 16, 2026.
