Bishop Dr. Kate Kawas, Proprietress of Lekced International School and leader of World Harvest Ministries, has urged Christians to devote time to heartfelt and powerful praise, describing it as a spiritual weapon capable of overcoming life’s challenges.

She gave the charge during a special Sunday service themed “Let the High Praises of God Be in Our Mouth.”

The praise session, led by Minister Nene OlaJide, filled the atmosphere with joyful worship as members of the congregation lifted songs of praise and danced in celebration.

Preaching from Psalm 149:6-8, Bishop Kawas described the scripture as a powerful reminder that praise is not merely an act of worship but also a divine weapon for victory.

Quoting the passage, she said:

“Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the nations, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written. Praise ye the Lord.”

According to her, the scripture demonstrates that sincere praise has the power to break strongholds and bring divine intervention.

To further illustrate her message, Bishop Kawas referenced 2 Chronicles 20:21, recalling how King Jehoshaphat appointed singers and worshippers to lead the army into battle, after which God granted Israel victory over its enemies.

“Praise is the weapon of warfare,” she declared.

She also urged believers to move beyond seeing praise as mere entertainment.

“We are not just dancing to be entertained; we are engaging in spiritual warfare,” she said.

Bishop Kawas prophesied freedom and deliverance over the congregation, declaring, “As we praise God today, I see every captivity being broken, and I see God fighting every battle.”

She further encouraged Christians not to take God’s goodness for granted, reminding them to remain grateful for the gift of life and good health.

“We are sitting here strong and healthy. Do you know what God has done for you?” she asked.

The service marked the maiden edition of African Praise Sunday and featured colourful cultural presentations representing Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
