All Saints Catholic Church celebrates Grace Ike’s service to humanity
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council Chairperson, Comrade Grace Ike, has been honoured with the 2026 Humanitarian and Service Award by the Laity Council of All Saints Catholic Church in recognition of her contributions to journalism and humanitarian service.
The recognition was announced during a church service attended by worshippers, where members applauded her commitment to service, leadership and community development.
Reacting to the honour, Comrade Ike expressed gratitude to God and dedicated the award to both the Almighty and members of the NUJ FCT Council.
Speaking in an interview, she thanked the organisers for recognising her efforts, describing the award as a motivation to continue serving humanity and advancing the journalism profession.
> “It’s not just an award, it’s an invitation to do more,” she said.
> “I pledge to continue serving humanity and advancing the cause of journalism with humility and dedication, through the help of God.”
The award adds to a growing list of recognitions received by Comrade Ike for her professional achievements in journalism and her humanitarian engagements.
Although she was not physically present at the ceremony, the award was received on her behalf by the Auditor of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Rosemary Ukoko-Tega.
The honour underscores Comrade Ike’s growing influence within the media industry and her commitment to initiatives aimed at impacting lives beyond the newsroom.
