NCAA certifies Fly-Pyatic to launch commercial air transport services
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to Fly-Pyatic, the aviation arm of Pyatic Group, authorising the company to commence commercial air transport operations, including executive charter and non-scheduled flight services in Nigeria.
Presenting the certificate in Abuja, the Director-General of the NCAA, Chris Ona Najomo, described the certification as a significant milestone but stressed that maintaining the licence through strict compliance with safety standards is even more important.
> “What is important now is not just obtaining the AOC but maintaining it. Safety remains non-negotiable. We are committed to supporting operators while ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational discipline are maintained across the industry,” he said.
Receiving the certificate, the Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Pyatic Group, Aliyu Ahmad Yakubu, described the approval as more than regulatory permission to operate.
“It represents a belief that mobility creates access, access creates opportunities, and opportunities transform lives,” he said.
Yakubu noted that the certification lays the foundation for the company’s broader vision of using aviation to drive business growth, expand economic opportunities and create sustainable value across Africa.
He said Fly-Pyatic aims to position aviation as a strategic tool for productivity and economic development rather than a luxury service, despite challenges facing Nigeria’s aviation industry, including infrastructure deficits, high operating costs and limited access to financing.
Also speaking, Fly-Pyatic’s Chief Operating Officer, Bola Adeeko, said the airline is focused on providing reliable, flexible and secure executive mobility solutions tailored to modern businesses.
According to him, the company’s services are designed for corporate executives, entrepreneurs, organisations, and government institutions requiring efficient, private and dependable air transportation.
Adeeko added that Fly-Pyatic intends to reduce productivity losses associated with commercial air travel by offering on-demand charter services, corporate mobility solutions and flexible travel arrangements.
He said the company remains committed to redefining executive mobility, expanding access to opportunities and supporting business growth through safe, efficient and purpose-driven aviation services.
